Face to Face With Jesus - a Lenten Meditationنموونە

“I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief” might be one of the shortest prayers in the Bible and one of the most honest prayers prayed by a lay person. This man had watched his son suffer for many years because of demonic oppression. He was desperate for a miracle and yet like us, he had his doubts that Jesus would set his child free once and for all. Jesus hits the nail on the head when he rebukes the impure spirit and commands it to “never enter him again”. What authority and what power. This is our God. He is still the same! So often we know that God can do anything, yet our unbelief gets in the way. This unbelief may have crept in from years of waiting for that breakthrough or because of chronic suffering. It may be important for us to come to the author of our faith and humbly ask Him to help our unbelief. Only He can renew and restore a waning weather-beaten faith.
Questions to ask yourself
Is my faith on shaky ground?
Could my miracle need me to step up my prayer life like the disciples needed for this situation?
