Face to Face With Jesus - a Lenten Meditationنموونە

Jesus met with a scribe, one of the “religious” guys who taught the law and was a rigid observant of the same. This scribe seemed thrilled at the idea of following Jesus but didn’t realize the cost of following. Jesus helps him see what kind of life that would be - one where he may not always have a place to lay his head.
Discipleship is costly and will require many times that we are willing to lay all that we are and have, before God. Jesus never demanded surrender from anyone but he was upfront with his disciples about what they would deal with when they followed Him. Surrender is a step-by-step letting go of our need for control, and handing over charge to God who will care for us way better than we ever could.
Our readiness to give up our need for comfort, luxury and plenty for a life of sacrifice and selflessness is what will set us apart from the watching world.
Questions to ask yourself
How ready am I to give up comfort?
Which areas of my life am I yet to surrender to God?
