Face to Face With Jesus - a Lenten Meditationنموونە

A man calls Jesus’ attention to his mother and brothers waiting outside for Him. Jesus uses even that simple moment to teach those around Him a little bit more about the Kingdom of God. He tells the man that his mother and brothers were those who did the will of the father in heaven (like his disciples). The point Jesus was making was that once we follow Him by putting our faith in Him, we get adopted into the family of God. We are now co-heirs with Christ (like Paul put it). We are now sons and daughters of God who can come with boldness before Him. He elevated every believer to a place of sonship which brings with it great benefits and great responsibility too! The benefits include free access and an eternal inheritance to name a few out of the many many blessings that are ours in Christ Jesus. A few of the responsibilities that we have are allowing suffering to complete its work in us and being filled and renewed by the Holy Spirit daily so that we bring Him glory.
Questions to ask yourself
What benefits do I find in being part of God’s family?
What responsibilities have I avoided in being a child of God?
