No matter how good or how bad the last year has been, God is always ready to do something new. The prophet Isaiah wrote:
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. (Isaiah 43:18)
It’s a new season! The rhythm of the seasons is one of the things that dictate our lives and our calendars. We plan an outdoor barbeque for our summer birthday party and pack up our winter coats as Spring and Summer return. Knowing what season we are in goes a long way towards our health and happiness. There is a sound calling us to pray and fast. The early church ushered in a whole new season and offers a supernatural precedent for us today. God spoke new things for their new season.
While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work which I have called them.” (Acts 13:2)
