Finding Joy: The Little Thingsنموونە

Little Thing # 5: Give Joyfully
At first thought, giving is a one-sided act, yielding nothing in return. On the contrary, much can be gained from acts of kindness. The best way that I can explain the joy gained from giving is, by showing God’s love to others, it strengthens God's Spirit inside of you (for believers) or the Spirit that works on you as a non-believer. It will increase your momentary happiness and elevate your internal joy.
In God’s Word, blessings are promised to those who give to the poor. We can reap much joy from blessings given by our Father in Heaven. We are promised protection, peace and always having what we need in times of trouble.
This week, challenge yourself to give your time, compassion, understanding, financial resources, or physical labor to someone (that may or may not deserve it). Do it simply because you choose to do so. No matter how simple or complex your act of giving may be, do it with love, and experience elevated joy and a “peace that surpasses all understanding.”
