Do you know someone who can talk for a long time? You try to get a word in, but they continue to talk over you every time you do. This can be frustrating. Now let's turn the attention to us; how many times are we like this to God? We only talk to God but do we ever listen to God?
God will always listen to us when we talk and thank goodness for it! Do we ever give time and space for us to let God talk? For example, the verses we read today talk about how we can pray to God, but the author says they wait expectantly at the very end. They have presented their requests and now wait for God to speak. In the same way, if we let others speak and listen to them, it might be a good thing to let God speak to us. This can be done by carefully listening to all the ways God can speak to us, sometimes directly from God and sometimes through other people.
Think of how you can start listening to God. How can you be more aware and open to when God speaks?
