Getting to Know the Prophetsنموونە

Malachi

The prophet Malachi continues to bring a message to the people of Israel. He begins by exposing the corruption that was taking place in the lives of the people and in the temple by the priests. Then the Lord confronted the sin and called the people to repentance. The people of Israel continued to turn their back on him. God responded with a short story about the faithful remnant of Israel and commanded a book of remembrance be written, listing all faithful servants who feared Him and meditated on His name.

The book of Malachi ends with a beautiful summary that unites the Torah (God’s law) and the prophets, and a vision of hope that pointed to the future, a glimpse of who was to come.

1. Is there an area of your life that you need to confront and correct? Is the Lord dealing with any area that needs to be brought back into alignment with the Word of God?
2. Do you think it was hard for Malachi to deliver these messages to the people of Israel? Is the Lord calling you to speak truth into the life of someone you know?

Prayer: Lord, align my heart with you and your Word. Give me clarity to see areas that are drawing me away from who you are calling me to be.
