The Word has created everything
“All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.” (John 1:3)
The eternal Logos, the Word, was there from the beginning. He was not created, but existed from eternity with God. Everything else has been created by Him. John describes this briefly and philosophically, almost as a poem or a song. The apostle Paul is a little more explicit and explains that the Logos is Jesus Christ: “There is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist” (1 Corinthians 8:6).
The creation of the world was a joint effort of God the Father, of God the Son who is also called Logos or Word, and of God the Holy Spirit. These verses make clear that the Logos is not some “lesser god” or a created being. He is 100% God, and therefore worthy of all honor and praise.
Nothing that is made, was made without God. That means He is the rightful Ruler over everything. He is the owner of the earth and of every living being, including us humans.

The apostle John wrote a book about Jesus, “so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31). This reading plan goes through many Scripture verses, and the first chapters of John’s gospel, to discover who Jesus is.
