Steward Your Story

DAY 2 OF 5

Stewarding Your Story With Wisdom

One of the biggest mistakes I made as a writer was thinking that my book was for everyone, and that I had to share every detail of my life. It wasn't easy to find the core message of my book, because I wanted to share it all.

When I first shared my manuscript with a church leader, I didn't receive great feedback. There was no clear message because I shared too much. And I had no idea who I was writing to.

Not every detail of your life belongs in your book or blog. God gives wisdom to discern which parts of your story are for private healing, which are for personal testimony, and which are meant for public encouragement. Likewise, feedback can feel painful, but it’s often God’s refining fire, helping you shape your words with clarity and humility.

Reflection Questions:

  • What part of my story feels too raw to share right now?
  • Who can I invite into the feedback process so it strengthens me instead of discouraging me?

Action Step:

List three key moments of your story. Ask God: Which of these are You asking me to share in this season?

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me the wisdom to know what parts of my story to share. May every word you give me to write unlock my readers from the places where they feel stuck.

Amen.

About this Plan

Steward Your Story

Feeling called to write but unsure where to start? Or perhaps you have started to share your story, but you have grown tired and discouraged. This 5-day Bible reading plan will encourage writers to embrace their God-given identity, steward their stories with wisdom, find supportive community, reach the right readers, and stay faithful in seasons of hiddenness. You are not just called to write and publish, you are called to be a steward of your story.
