30 Days of Scriptures for Mental Health Strugglesনমুনা

Day 7: God’s Peace
A scripture that has been like a rock throughout my mental health journey is Philippians 4:6-7 NIV. It says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
This scripture instructs us not to be anxious or worry about anything, but to instead go to God, thankfully, with our requests, desires, and needs. This brings me comfort because it then says that God’s peace will guard or protect our hearts and minds.
The way I applied it to my mental health journey was by praying to God for each and every single thing that was troubling me. I needed peace, His peace that goes beyond my understanding, so my mind could be protected from the negativity. Therefore, I encourage you to apply this scripture to your mental health journey as well.
Prayer point:
Heavenly Father, Almighty God, thank you for your peace that transcends all understanding. Please guard my heart and mind with it. Help me come to you in prayer with all my worries, expressing my requests. Thank you for helping me and comforting me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
