The Family of Abraham

Labels are very real and very powerful. Sometimes they can be positive, but other times they leave us feeling small or unwanted. But God’s Word tells us that our true identity does not come from what other people say about us. Our identity comes from the One who created us in His image; it comes from God. He calls you His child and His masterpiece: His special work of art. You are chosen. You are loved. You are His.

Take this question to an adult in your home: What labels have stopped you from seeing yourself the way God does?

Prayer:

“God, thank You for telling me who I am in Your Word. When my mind becomes clouded with labels that have been put on me by other people, You give me clarity and peace. Please help me to stand firm in who You say I am. I love being loved by You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
