Grief Survivor: 30 Steps Toward Hope and Healing

DAY 24 OF 30

TURNING POINTS

As the healing process continues, there will likely come a day when you hear of a friend who has experienced loss. Whether it's the loss of a loved one, loss of a job or even the death of a marriage, losing what is important to us can be devastating.

For a while, you may have not felt strong enough to offer support for anyone else, but now you might be ready to go. Helping someone who is hurting can be a stone on the pathway toward healing, and bringing meaning to your pain.

As you begin to turn your focus outward, it's good to remember:

- words are not always necessary

- people may not remember what you said, as much as your presence in their darkest hours

- fresh air, taking a pet for a walk, and sunshine are all great therapy

Reflect: When you're ready to offer support to someone who's hurting, what would be a good first step? Ask the Lord to go before you, and help you courageously show up for them.

About this Plan

Grief Survivor: 30 Steps Toward Hope and Healing

Losing a loved one can leave you anxious, confused, and even feeling a little bit crazy. The good news is you're not crazy. You're grieving. Author, Beth Marshall understands. After losing some of her favorite family members, she wasn't sure where to turn. She ultimately found great comfort through God's word and by writing straight through the valley until the light began to shine again. You're invited to grab a journal, reflect or write through the daily prompts, and allow the Lord to begin to heal your heart.
