Beyond the Battlefield

DAY 9 OF 15

Thankful living is the result of living connected to Christ. When you live this way, people who observe your life take notice. Churched or unchurched, they’re intrigued. Your life becomes a tool of evangelism. The encouragement to live peacefully and thankfully was written by an imprisoned pastor. The book of Colossians is known as one of the apostle Paul’s “prison letters.” Paul was a religious zealot before he met Christ and a servant of God after meeting Christ. Through all his experiences, he learned that living thankfully puts things in perspective.

Complaining, envying, and constantly competing with your brothers and sisters causes distraction, confusion, and anxiety. And none of those things produces peace. On the other hand, living thankfully brings clarity. It unclogs the obstructions in the conduit that connects you, the created, to the Creator. This peace should be the guiding force, not just an emotion, but an active principle that shapes our thoughts and actions. This means that Christ’s peace should be the guiding principle in our lives, shaping our thoughts, words, and actions. It’s about allowing Christ’s peace to be the authority that governs our hearts.

Imagine a situation where you’re facing a difficult challenge. Instead of being consumed by anxiety or fear, allow the peace of Christ to rule in your heart.

About this Plan

Beyond the Battlefield

In a world where conflict is constant, comes the need to look at what it truly means to navigate the crossfire. This isn’t about grand battles—this is about the daily interactions with family, friends, and even strangers. Spend enough time with anyone, and you’ll run into conflict. In this devotional, we’ll learn what it looks like to respond well and control what’s within our means to maintain so we don’t lose ourselves and the relationship in the process.
