Renew Your Mind

DAY 2 OF 5

A New Life Through God’s Word

Ephesians 4:22-24 (NIV) - You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

When we give our lives to Jesus, He gives us a fresh start. But growing in faith is not just about believing in Him—it’s about becoming new in the way we think and live.

Before we knew God, we lived our own way, following what felt right or what the world told us to do. But now, Jesus invites us to leave behind our old way of life and walk in a new, better way—one that is full of love, truth, and righteousness.

How do we do this? By renewing our minds with God’s Word. The Bible teaches us what is true, shows us the right way to live, and helps us make good choices. When we read it, think about it, and apply it to our lives, we grow stronger in faith and become more like Jesus.

How to grow in your new life with God:

  • Read the Bible Daily – Even a few verses a day will help you grow (Psalm 119:105).
  • Pray and Ask God for Help – He will guide and strengthen you (James 1:5).
  • Let Go of Bad Habits – Replace them with things that honor God (Colossians 3:9-10).
  • Surround Yourself with Believers – Being with other Christians helps you stay strong (Hebrews 10:25).
  • Trust in God's Plan for You – He is making you new every day (Philippians 1:6).

About this Plan

Renew Your Mind

For our minds to be strong and undisturbed by outside influences, they need to change from the inside out. The dictionary meaning of "renewing of the mind" is the process of changing one’s thoughts and attitudes to be more positive. For a Christian, it means acting on the Word of God and bringing one's will into agreement with God's will.
