Stories of Generosity: How Followers of Jesus Changed the Worldনমুনা

Day 4 | Tim Keller
“Nobody thinks they are greedy. As a pastor I've had people come to me and confess that they struggle with almost every kind of sin. Almost. I cannot recall anyone ever coming to me and saying, 'I spend too much money on myself. I think my greedy lust for money is harming my family, my soul, and people around me.' Greed hides itself from the victim. The money-god's modus operandi includes blindness to your own heart.” - Tim Keller
Tim Keller, an author, teacher, and pastor, reminded us why Jesus warned again and again to watch out for greed. Let’s face it—most of us don’t see it in ourselves. But it’s there. Even the most generous people can slip into selfishness. The good news is we don’t need to feel shame about it. Jesus’s love covers all sin. But we can’t deal with what we don’t acknowledge. As Tim said, “greed hides itself from the victim,” Jesus invites us to bring it into the light so it loses its power.
Pray: Lord, show me where greed may be hiding in my life. Search my heart and reveal what I don’t see. Thank you for your forgiveness and for helping me choose generosity instead of greed.
About this Plan

Throughout history, God has used ordinary men and women whose extraordinary faith and generosity changed the world. Their words and lives still inspire us today, pointing us toward Jesus and showing us what it looks like to live open-handed for his Kingdom. As we study their stories alongside Scripture, we’re reminded that true generosity isn’t about wealth or status—it’s about a heart fully surrendered to God. Their examples challenge us, inspire us, and invite us to take our next step toward joyful, radical, Christlike generosity.
