Stories of Generosity: How Followers of Jesus Changed the Worldনমুনা

Day 1 | Mother Teresa
“At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by ‘I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in.’” - Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa showed the power of simple compassion. God's Word reminds us that our true worth isn’t measured by money or achievements, but by how we care for others, especially those in need. God is outrageously kind, loving, and generous toward us, and it pleases him when we show the same kind of generosity to others. Our love for God is demonstrated by how we love the people he loves. Mother Theresa lived that out—seeing Jesus in “the least of these”: the sick, the poor, the forgotten, and serving them with humility.
God doesn’t call everyone to leave their home or live in the slums of Calcutta like she did, but each of us is called to carry the same heart of compassion wherever we are. Generosity begins right where we are—at work, in our neighborhoods, and in our own families. When we love and serve others with the heart of Jesus, whether in big ways or small, we get to join him in changing lives.
Pray: Lord, it’s easy to get distracted by things that don’t really matter. Give me eyes to see people the way you do, and don’t let me miss the chance to bless others. Help me become a more compassionate person so my love for you shows up in how I love the people you love.
About this Plan

Throughout history, God has used ordinary men and women whose extraordinary faith and generosity changed the world. Their words and lives still inspire us today, pointing us toward Jesus and showing us what it looks like to live open-handed for his Kingdom. As we study their stories alongside Scripture, we’re reminded that true generosity isn’t about wealth or status—it’s about a heart fully surrendered to God. Their examples challenge us, inspire us, and invite us to take our next step toward joyful, radical, Christlike generosity.
