Death Is A Process.
“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Genesis 2:17 KJV
In Genesis 2:17, God outlines the reward or the consequence of sin. God tells Adam, “Thou shalt surely die.” Death is a process. Adam did not die instantly, once he disobeyed God, he began to wither. After sin was introduced, Adam began to wither spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially. Disobedience introduces decay.
Don’t let your destiny decay. Don’t forfeit your God-given Promise through disobedience or neglect. Don’t forfeit your promotion by disobeying God’s Voice. Don’t forfeit your enlargement and expansion due to your disobedience or slothful obedience.
Disobedience delays destiny. Disobedience corrupts the soil of your heart and character. Disobedience disrupts peace. Disobedience breeds and cultivates an environment of rebellion and frustration.
If you’ve disobeyed God, if you’ve walked away from His Commands, choose to repent and turn back to God. Repentance reverses curses and breaks generational cycles. Proverbs 1:23 AMPC declares, “If you will turn (repent) and give heed to my reproof, behold, I [Wisdom] will pour out my spirit upon you, I will make my words known to you.” Choose to repent and turn to God.
According to Strong’s Concordance, the Hebrew word for Repent is shuwb (H7725), which means “To return or to turn back.” Turn back to God. When you repent, you are turning away from the old way of doing things and embracing God’s Way of doing things. When you repent, you are turning away from the old and surrendering to the new. Crucify your flesh and surrender to Christ.
Romans 6:6 KJV declares, “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” When you are in Christ, you do not have to serve sin. When you serve Christ, you do not have to be a slave to sin. Crucify the old man and let Christ come alive in you.
According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for Crucify is stauroō (G4717), which means “To stake or to drive down stakes.” Choose to crucify your flesh with the Word of God. Stake down sin with His Word. Let His Word crucify sin in every area of your life. Let His Word crush sin in every area of your marriage. Surrender to God.
Surrender to His Way of doing things. Surrender your marriage to God and let the old things go. Let the old ways die. Crush sin by surrendering to God. “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7 KJV
