Matthew's Journey: 'Accepted as You Are' (Part 1)নমুনা

An invitation for you
Feeling unwanted, isolated and out of place can weigh us down. Matthew, as a tax collector, was seen as a traitor by his people and was despised by nearly everyone–even among Jesus’ friends at first. His job made him wealthy, but at the cost of isolation and rejection. In The Chosen (Season 1, Episode 7), this lonely man receives an invitation that changes everything—Jesus looks at him and says, “Follow Me.” No hesitation, no conditions—just an open invitation.
Jesus extends the same invitation to you too! In John 6:37, He promises, “All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.” No matter how unworthy or distant you may feel, He welcomes you. Psalm 139 assures you that God knew you before you were even born. He formed you, loves you, and calls you to find rest in Him–even if it feels uncomfortable at first.
Where in your life do you feel unaccepted, unseen or unwanted? It could be in an isolated situation or just overall be the story of your life (or something in between). Either way, Jesus takes you in, with open arms and open heart! Please take a moment to reflect on this–and if you find a longing in your heart, bring that to Jesus in prayer. It’s not hard, just give it a try. Take a moment of silence, close your eyes, sit comfortable and just… listen to His voice calling you—not with judgment, but with love.
P.S. Are you enjoying this journey with Matthew? Your own character might even resemble his. Care to find out? Take our The Chosen 'Test of Character' and journey for a while with the character you have the most in common with.
