Holding Onto Your Heavenly Father
Reflection
Facing intimidating circumstances can make us feel like we are standing alone. It tells us that we are helpless and hopeless.
I left a message on Brooks’ phone. I decided to get dressed and be ready so that I could leave the house at a moment’s notice. I needed to be with my daughter. I needed to hold her hand, pray over her in person, and let her know she was going to be okay. So I reached out to PaPa and asked for His help, “I needed to hear Brooks’ voice.”
I called Brooks, and she answered. I asked, “How are you, sweetheart?” She quietly gave me the name of her hospital and room number with such pain in her voice. I responded, “I’m leaving the house right now to be with YOU.”
I was immediately reminded of Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart, rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make.”(TPT)
As I walked inside the hospital, I talked with PaPa as I went up to Brooks’ floor. I asked Him to prepare me for what I was about to see. “Let me be a blessing to her; let me be a pillar of strength for her. I need her to feel Your peace and Your joy, PaPa. I need Your presence to flood through Brooks’ heart and overflow into her room. I’m depending on You, PaPa. Thank You for what You are about to do.” Now I’m standing in front of her door.
We all find ourselves in front of doors that we don't want to step through. But we are not walking through that door on our own. Even when we are finding it hard to hold onto our Father, He is holding onto us!
Activation
What door are you standing in front of right now? Imagine PaPa standing right next to you.
Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I’m standing at the door, knocking. If your heart is open to hear my voice and you open the door within, I will come in to you and feast with you, and you will feast with me,”(TPT)
PaPa wants you to talk with Him about everything: the happy, sad, and the in-between parts of your life. Share your heart with Him.
Declaration
I love You, Jesus and I trust YOU! I give you every part of my life. I will trust You in the good times, stressful times, and the sad times. Thank You!
