In Solitude You Are Never Alone

The idea of being alone can feel intimidating for some who struggle to pull away from people or important tasks. Often, we fear being alone with God because it means we have to face the emotions or situations we have been running away from. The good news is that when you seek the Lord in Solitude, you are never alone. He is with you, ready to speak to you and help with whatever you are facing. In place of what we are afraid to face, He gives us a sound mind to drive away tormenting thoughts or anxiety, rather than continuing to drown them out with distractions.

Take time to read Jeremiah 29:12-13. With this, you can be confident that your time with God is always fruitful. His Word promises you that He listens when you call. He is never too busy for you. And when you seek Him, you will find Him if you search for Him with your whole heart.

Prayer

Father, thank You for Your abiding presence. I have come to seek You. Your Word says that if I seek You, I will find You. Reveal to me what is on Your heart. Amen.

Application

• If you have a hard time getting alone with God, ask Him to reveal what is hindering your intimate time with Him.
• When you find Him in your place of Solitude, you have the ear of the Father, the Lord of the universe! Come to Him with your questions, your thoughts, and your needs.
