Lessons From Donkeysনমুনা

God Works Through Life’s Detours
“As for your donkeys that were lost three days ago, do not set your mind on them, for they have been found.” 1 Samuel 9:20 (ESV).
Saul was just looking for lost donkeys, but his journey led him to the prophet Samuel—and ultimately to being anointed as Israel’s first king. What started as a routine errand became a divine appointment. What seemed random was actually orchestrated by God.
God uses detours to direct your destiny. He is always working, even in your disruptions and disappointments. When you walk with Him, no step is wasted—every twist and turn can be part of His bigger plan.
What detours or delays in your life might God be using to lead you toward His purpose?
Prayer: Father God, please help me trust that your plan includes every step—even the ones that feel off-course. Teach me to walk by faith, knowing you are leading me through every step for a greater purpose. In Jesus' name, Amen.

About this Plan

Donkeys might not seem like spiritual mentors, but in the Bible, God used them to teach us lessons. This 3-day devotional will guide you through three unique Bible stories involving donkeys. Each one contains a different lesson about hearing God’s voice, following His lead, and remembering that it’s not about us—it’s all about Jesus. Can God use even a donkey to speak truth into your life? Absolutely. So open your heart—and maybe get ready to say “Amen” or even “Hee-Haw!”
