Through It All At some point in life, you’re going to have to trust someone. Whether you trust your spouse, your boss, or your parents, trust comes with the territory. You can’t live without trust. But in my life, I’ve learned the importance of trusting in God. When you trust God with every high mountain, He will be with you through every low valley. Even when it seems like God is silent, He’s still there. Even when it seems like God isn’t moving as quickly as you want him to, God is still there. God’s word is so true: He will never leave you nor forsake you. This is not just something I’ve heard. This is something I’ve lived. When David and I had children, we thought everything would go right if we just trained them in the way of the Lord. We didn’t have a manual on parenting, so we did the best we could with the resources we had. But even on my best parenting days, I had to trust in Jesus. I’ll never forget when our youngest child turned two years old. At first, we thought she had a common cold. Then it got worse so we thought it was the flu. Then it got worse so we took her to the hospital. By that point, she was crying with no tears and she wasn’t urinating. Doctors said she was extremely dehydrated, and without immediate intervention, she would die. David had to hold the baby while they inserted an IV needle into her small body, and all I kept hearing was negative words around me: “you know a lot of babies die of dehydration.” That was a moment when we had no choice but to trust God. It was out of our control, but through it all, God intervened. Later on, our children grew up and wanted to do what they wanted to do. As a parent, it was hard to see them walk in the opposite direction, but God was with them through it all, and God was with us. If I’ve learned anything in this life, I’ve learned to trust God when you can’t trace God. If you let Him lead your life, He will cover those you love. If you let Him guide your heart, He will give you the peace that surpasses understanding. No matter where you are in your journey, learn to trust in Jesus. Learn to trust in God. If you do, He will help you…to get through it all.
