Psalms in 30 Days

DAY 4 OF 30

## Morning Prayer: Call to Prayer (read Psalm 51:9) Confession of Faith I believe that God has spoken and continues to speak in and through Scripture, the only infallible and sufficiently clear rule and authority for Christian faith, thought, and life. Scripture is God’s inspired and illuminating Word in the words of his servants, the prophets and apostles, a gracious self-communication of God’s own light and life, a means of grace for growing in knowledge and holiness. The Bible is to be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it commands, trusted in all that it promises, and revered in all that it reveals. Adapted from the Reforming Catholic Confession Canticle Glory to you, Lord God of our fathers; you are worthy of praise; glory to you. Glory to you for the radiance of your holy Name; we will praise you and highly exalt you for ever. Glory to you in the splendor of your temple; on the throne of your majesty, glory to you. Glory to you, seated between the Cherubim; we will praise you and highly exalt you for ever. Glory to you, beholding the depths; in the high vault of heaven, glory to you. Glory to you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; we will praise you and highly exalt you for ever. Song of the Three Young Men Read Morning Psalms 19 and 21 Gloria Glory be to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever, world without end. Pray: The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) Intercessions and Personal Requests: Prayer of the Church Almighty and everlasting God, you hate nothing you have made and forgive the sins of all who are penitent: Create and make in us new and contrite hearts, that we, worthily lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of you, the God of all mercy, perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Book of Common Prayer Blessing The peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord; and the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be among you, and remain with you always. Amen. ## Midday Prayers: Call to Prayer The mercy of the Lord is everlasting: O come, let us adore him. Read Psalm 22 Gloria Glory be to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever, world without end. Pray: The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) Blessing (read 2 Corinthians 13:14) ## Evening Prayers: Call to Prayer (read Amos 5:8) Confession of Sin Lord Jesus Christ, who stretched out your hands on the cross, and redeemed us by your blood: forgive me, a sinner, for none of my thoughts are hidden from you. Pardon I ask, pardon I hope for, pardon I trust to have. You who are full of pity and mercy: spare me, and forgive. Ambrose Canticle (read Isaiah 55:6-11) Read Evening Psalms 20 and 23 Gloria Glory be to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever, world without end. Pray: The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) Intercessions and Personal Requests: Prayer of the Church Behold, Lord, an empty vessel that needs to be filled. My Lord, fill it. I am weak in the faith; strengthen me. I am cold in love; warm me and make me fervent, that my love may go out to my neighbor. I do not have a strong and firm faith; at times I doubt and am unable to trust you altogether. O Lord, help me. Strengthen my faith and trust in you. In you I have sealed the treasure of all I have. I am poor; you are rich and came to be merciful to the poor. I am a sinner; you are upright. With me, there is an abundance of sin; in you is the fullness of righteousness. Therefore, I will remain with you of whom I can receive, but to whom I may not give. Martin Luther Blessing The Almighty and merciful Lord, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, bless us and keep us, this night and evermore. Amen.
