Christ In You: Living Into Your Life's Purpose

Devotional

God Works Through You

You were made for a purpose and an adventure. God has a special role for you in making His name known in your own neighborhood and among the nations.

The first chapter of Ephesians says you are blessed in Christ with every spiritual blessing. Adopted as God’s child through Jesus Christ, you are holy and blameless—redeemed and forgiven according to the riches of His grace.

It’s in this grace that He has revealed the mystery of His will—His plan in Christ to “unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth” (Ephesians 1:3-10). He has equipped you to join Him and take part in this glorious plan.

All around the world there are men, women, and children desperately seeking peace and reconciliation with God. Many of them have no one trying to point them to Jesus, the way to the Father (John 14:6).

But we are ambassadors for Christ, and God is making His appeal through us (2 Corinthians 5:19-20).

Guided Prayer

  • Take a moment to consider the blessings you have received in Christ—spiritual adoption, eternal salvation, the grace of being a part of His plan.
  • Thank God for reconciling you to Himself through Jesus Christ and for entrusting you with the message of reconciliation.
  • Pray for God to show you your role in helping bring the Gospel to those who haven’t had a chance to hear it.

God has given you His message of reconciliation.

Some might be called to distant lands to share the Good News. Others pray and give to help bring the Gospel to those who might otherwise never have a chance to hear and respond to it.

Whichever your role, you are essential to God’s global plan. He has designed for you an adventure of faith. And He’s equipped you to live it out—by giving you a promise to be with you and an assurance that Christ is in you.

What step can you take today to trust God and allow Him to use you for His glory? Be encouraged that because of your faithfulness, others will see Him through you and have a chance to respond to the hope of Jesus Christ.
