In this verse, John is urging us to remember that while we have all made choices that ultimately separated us from God, as followers of Jesus, we have the amazing privilege to not only have our sins forgiven once and for all, but to start fresh each day. We can be forgiven of our sins and mistakes and let God into those areas of our lives where we fall short. He is loving and faithful to forgive no matter what. What areas of life do you need a fresh start in? Take some time to share those things with God and ask for His help. Then, thank Him for the amazing gift of forgiveness!
