تعليم 40: التلميذُ يتأمَّلُ في البداياتِ الجديدةِ كأعيادِ الميلادِ والزَّواجِ ورأسِ السَّنة، باعتبارِ اللهِ إلهَ البِداياتِ الجديدة، ويَطرحُ على نفسِهِ ثلاثةَ أسئلةٍ مَصيريَّةٍ تتعلَّقُ بخلاصِهِ وبعَلاقتِهِ مع اللهِ ومع الآخَرين. تعليم 41 :التلميذُ يَعرفُ المعمودِيَّةَ، فيتعرَّفُ إلى معموديَّةِ يسوعَ ودَوافعِها، ووصيَّتِهِ بتعميدِ المؤمنينَ باسمِ الآبِ والابنِ والرُّوحِ القُدُس، ومعناها كعَلامةٍ خارجيَّةٍ على الاتِّحادِ بالمسيحِ والتطهيرِ من الخطايا. تعليم 42: التلميذُ يَعرفُ فريضةَ عَشاءِ الربِّ ومُسمَّياتِها ككَسرِ الخُبزِ والإفخارِسْتِيَّا، ويتعلَّمُ خَمسَ حقائقَ هامَّةٍ علَّمها الرسولُ بولُسُ عن هذه الفريضةِ. حِفظ 14: التلميذُ يفهمُ أنَّ الخلاصَ هِبةٌ مجَّانيَّةٌ من اللهِ بالنِّعمةِ والإيمان، لا بالأعمال، نابعةٌ من محبَّتِهِ الكثيرةِ ورَحْمَتِهِ الغنيَّةِ ونِعمَتِهِ الفائقة.

As New York pastor Rich Villodas defines it, a deeply formed life is a life marked by integration, intersection, intertwining, and interweaving, holding together multiple layers of spiritual formation. This kind of life calls us to be people who cultivate lives with God in prayer, move toward reconciliation, work for justice, have healthy inner lives, and see our bodies and sexuality as gifts to steward.

Be still. For some, these two simple words are a welcome invitation to slow down. For others, they feel impossible, out of reach in our increasingly noisy world, or simply just too hard to maintain. Brian Heasley demonstrates how we don’t need to be static for our hearts to be still, and how even in the midst of a full, busy life, we can spend quiet time with God.
