UJesu wathuma uPhethro noJohane, wathi: “Hambani niyosilungisela iPhasika ukuba sidle.” Bathi kuye: “Uthanda ukuba sililungisele kuphi na?” Wathi kubo: “Niyothi uma seningenile emzini, nihlangane nomuntu ethwele imbiza yamanzi; mlandeleni, niye endlini angena kuyo, bese nithi kumninindlu: ‘UMfundisi uthi kuwe: “Liphi ikamelo lezihambi engingadlela kulo iPhasika nabafundi bami, na?” ’ Lowo-ke uzakunikhombisa ikamelo elikhulu eliphezulu, elilungisiweyo; lilungiseleni lapho-ke.” Sebehambile, bafumana kunjengoba ayeshilo kubo, base belungisela iPhasika. Ngokuba ngithi kini: angisayukulidla futhi, kuze kufezeke inhloso yalo embusweni kaNkulunkulu.” Wathabatha indebe, wabonga wathi: “Thabathani lokhu, nabelane; ngokuba ngithi kini, kusukela manje angisayukuphuza kulesi sithelo somvini, kuze kufike umbuso.” Wayesethabatha isinkwa, wabonga, wasihlephula, wabanika sona, ethi: “Lokhu kungumzimba wami onikelelwe nina; yenzani lokhu ukuba ningikhumbule.”
