O objectivo do projecto da tradução NVI - Português de Moçambique consiste em produzir, o mais correctamente possível, um texto com precisão, clareza e naturalidade no Português de Moçambique. Ao fazê-lo, o projecto será então verificado em profundidade em referência às línguas originais (Hebraico e Grego), por forma a conferir a consistência e a exactidão textuais. Será antes uma Bíblia autêntica para os falantes do Português de Moçambique, reflectindo as suas formas de literatura, imaginário e expressões idiomáticas. Será igualmente observada a coerência linguística em termos de estilo e redacção do Português de Moçambique.

The aim of the Nova Versão Internacional (Português de Moçambique) adaptation of the loved and respected NVI Portuguese translation is to give the most accurate text possible in clear and natural Mozambican Portuguese. Building on the NVI’s balance of accuracy to the original languages (Hebrew and Greek) and fluency in contemporary Portuguese, this version is an authentic Bible for Mozambican Portuguese speakers, reflecting their forms of literature, imagery, and idioms. Portuguese style and wording from all parts of Mozambique has been considered to bring linguistic coherence for readers and hearers throughout the country.
