The Coptic Church, founded by St. Mark in Alexandria around 43 A.D., adheres to the Nicene Creed. Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in the Oneness of Nature, believing in One God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; three equal Co-Essential and Co-Indwelling Hypostasis (Persons) and believes in Christ as the only Savior. It is Miaphysite, affirming a United Divine and Human Nature of Christ. The Church has seen minimal changes in ritual or doctrine, maintaining continuous succession of its clergy.
