God has brought the Brooklyn Tabernacle from a handful of members in a rundown building to a congregation of thousands. Pastor Jim Cymbala and his wife, Carol, who directs the Grammy Award–winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, have been used by the Lord to preach the gospel to the cross-cultural melting pot of New York City. Central to the church’s growth has been a continual emphasis on prayer, from the Tuesday night prayer meeting to the prayer band, as its members boldly call on the Lord.
