En telkens as Moses sy hand ophou, was Israel die sterkste; maar as hy sy hand laat sak, was Ámalek die sterkste. Maar die hande van Moses het swaar geword; daarom het hulle 'n klip geneem en dit onder hom neergelê, dat hy daarop kon sit. En Aäron en Hur het sy hande ondersteun, die een duskant en die ander anderkant. So het sy hande dan vas gebly tot sononder.
