But seek ye first the kingdom o’ God an’ his richteousness, an’ a’ thae things sall be gien until you forbye.

Tak’ therefore nae thoucht for the morn: for the morn sall tak’ thoucht for the things o’ itsel. Eneugh for the day is the evil thereo’.

Therefore I say until you, Tak’ nae thoucht for your life, what ye sall eat, or what ye sall drink; nar yet for your body, what ye sall pit on. Isna the life mair nor meat, an’ the body nor claes?

But thou, whan thou prayest, gae intil thy closet, an’ whan thou hast steeket thy door, pray til thy Father wha is in secret; an’ thy Father, wha seeth in secret, sall reward thee openly.

After this gate therefore pray ye: Our Father wha art in heaven, Hallowet be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be dune in yirth as it is in heaven.

Gie us this day our daily bread.

An’ forgie us our debts, as we forgie our debtors

An’ lead us na intil temptation, but deliver us frae evil; for thine is the kingdom, an’ the power, an’ the glory, for ever. Amen.

For gin ye forgie men their fauts, your heavenly Father will forgie you alsua.

Behald the burds o’ the air; for they dinna saw, neither do they shear, nar gather intil barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Arena ye meikle better nor they?

Dinna lay by for yoursels walth upon yirth, whare moth an’ rust doth corrup’, an’ whare rievers break through an’ steal. But lay by for yoursels walth in heaven, whare neither moth nar rust doth corrup’, an’ whare rievers dinna break through nar steal. For whare your walth is there will your hairt be alsua.

Nae man can serve twa maisters; for either he will hate the ane, an’ loe the tither; or else he will haud til the ane an’ despise the tither. Ye canna serve God an’ Mammon.

Wharefore, gif God sae claithe the gerse o’ the field, whilk the day is, an’ the morn is coost intil the oon, sallna he meikle mair claithe you, O ye o’ little faith?

But whan thou doest thine aumis, letna thy left han’ ken what thy richt han’ doeth: That thine aumis may be in secret; an’ thy Father wha seeth in secret, himsel sall reward thee openly.

Tak’ tent that ye dinna your aumis afore men, to be seen o’ them; itherwaise ye hae nae reward o’ your Father wha is in heaven.

Mairowre whan ye fast, binna as the hypocrites, o’ a dowie leuk, for they disfigure their faces that they may kythe until men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They hae their reward. But thou, whan thou fastest, aneynt thy head, an’ wash thy face: That thou dinna kythe until men to fast, but until thy Father wha is in secret; an’ thy Father, wha seeth in secret, sall reward thee openly.
