As they came into the house and saw the child with his mother Mary, they fell down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, “Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”

When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.

And being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed for their own country by another way. After they were gone, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Rise, take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell yoʋ, for Herod is about to seek the child, to destroy him.”
