When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away. The official did not see him again, but he went on his way filled with joy.

The Holy Spirit told Philip, “Go over to that chariot and stay near it.” So Philip ran up to the chariot. He heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet and asked him, “Do you understand what you’re reading?” “How can I,” he replied, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.
