Your Vehicle for Life The body God gave you may not fit perfectly into our society’s standard of beauty. It may not run like a fine-tuned sports car. But, it is the only one you have — your only vehicle for the life you’ll spend on earth. Did you know that you build a completely new body (to include your entire skeletal system) about every eight years? Your health tomorrow depends upon the choices you make today — especially the foods you eat. It makes sense to choose well and keep your body fueled up and tuned up so it can serve you well! Eating and living in a way that brings glory to God means making mostly healthy choices that will result in a reasonably lean, healthy, and high energy body. He expects us to do our part to take good care of ourselves. Our philosophy in our Eat, Live, Thrive Diet is to develop a sustainable lifestyle eating plan that you can practice most days for the rest of your life…and still enjoy your life. Yes, there is room for a little “fun food”. We like to follow a 90/10 eating plan. That means 90 percent of what we put in our bodies is nutrient dense and healthy and ten percent is “just for fun.” God did give us taste buds to enjoy food. He just doesn’t want us to idolize it or pursue gratification more than nutrition. Each day as you make choices, try to consider those choices as a form of worship to God. He delights in each good step we take in the right direction. Give yourself the same grace He gives you as you slowly but surely change your mind and your habits toward a lifestyle that brings you victory and vitality. What choices will you make today that will help you bring glory to God in how you eat or drink?
