جو مُحبّت خُدا کو ہم سے ہے اُس کو ہم جان گئے اور ہمیں اُس کا یقِین ہے۔ خُدا مُحبّت ہے اور جو مُحبّت میں قائِم رہتا ہے وہ خُدا میں قائِم رہتا ہے اور خُدا اُس میں قائِم رہتا ہے۔ اِسی سبب سے مُحبّت ہم میں کامِل ہو گئی ہے تاکہ ہمیں عدالت کے دِن دِلیری ہو کیونکہ جَیسا وہ ہے وَیسے ہی دُنیا میں ہم بھی ہیں۔ مُحبّت میں خَوف نہیں ہوتا بلکہ کامِل مُحبّت خَوف کو دُور کر دیتی ہے کیونکہ خَوف سے عذاب ہوتا ہے اور کوئی خَوف کرنے والا مُحبّت میں کامِل نہیں ہُؤا۔ ہم اِس لِئے مُحبّت رکھتے ہیں کہ پہلے اُس نے ہم سے مُحبّت رکھّی۔
