Deeper Waters: Trusting God When It Doesn’t Make Sense

DAY 4 OF 5

Reading: Isaiah 55:8-9; Romans 11:33-36

Devotional:
God’s ways are higher, wiser, and often far different than ours. When life doesn’t make sense, faith reminds us that He sees the whole picture.

We like clarity; God offers trust. We want control; He invites surrender. His mystery isn’t meant to frustrate us, it’s meant to grow our faith. Even in confusion, we can worship the God whose wisdom is beyond measure.

Think back on seasons when you didn’t understand what God was doing but later saw His hand in it. Those moments teach us to rest in His sovereignty.

Prayer:
Father, thank You that Your thoughts and ways are higher than mine. When I can’t trace Your hand, help me trust Your heart. Replace my confusion with confidence in Your goodness. You never waste a moment. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Application:
When you face uncertainty this week, pause and say aloud: “God, I don’t understand this, but I trust You.” Let that confession shift your focus from confusion to faith.

About this Plan

Deeper Waters: Trusting God When It Doesn’t Make Sense

Faith doesn’t always make sense. Sometimes God asks us to cast our nets where we’ve already failed, to obey when it seems impossible, or to let go of what we love most. This 5-day devotional invites you to trust God when logic runs out, obey when it’s costly, and follow Jesus wherever He leads. Based on key moments of surrender from Scripture, Deeper Waters will challenge you to trust His Word, walk in obedience, and live on mission with confidence that His ways are higher than ours.
