Who Is He? Who Are We?Намуна

Today, we want to focus on Jesus as the Welcoming One.
Oftentimes, we believe that in order to go to God, we have to accomplish something big or do something “good” first, we try to clean ourselves up first, and look a certain way. The good news is the seat at the table isn't conditional on our good or bad days. God has a seat for us at His table every day. Imagine a home, it's nice and warm and smells really good like someone just made food, it's peaceful and inviting, you walk in, and Jesus is sitting down at the table. There’s food and a place just for you. You come into this home every day, and Jesus has a meal prepared and a seat with your name on it. You walk through the door every day. And every day you walk, and you're met with a warm, inviting smile, with a seat dedicated to you. Now, just like anyone else, some days you walk through the door happy. Other days, you are tired, frustrated, or angry. Some days you come in screaming; other days you are so exhausted you collapse on the couch. Sometimes you feel lonely, annoyed at work, stressed with school, or guilty that you did not do your best today. At times, you feel heavy under the weight of the world, anxious about tomorrow, sad about the phone call you just ended, overwhelmed by all the tasks ahead, or afraid of the future, stuck in the unknown. Regardless of the day, when you walk into that home, you see a smiling face. It's the one consistent thing, the one place that will never change. You know that no matter what, when you walk through those doors, you’ll be met face to face with whatever it is you’ve been lacking in your day. For the overwhelmed, stillness. For the grieving, comfort; for the lonely, a friend; for the one filled with shame, grace; for the overworked and tired, rest; and for the doubter, truth, and to the one who hasn’t sat at the table in a while, embrace. So we encourage you, no matter what kind of day it is, to sit in the one consistent place with the one consistent One. He will always be sitting at the table, and you will always have a place. Regardless of the day, Jesus remains the same because it’s not about our perfection but about the finished work on the cross. No matter how you walked through the door today, Jesus is waiting with a gentle and loving face, ready to embrace and listen as you sit with Him. There’s nothing more for you to do; the table is made, the food was baked, just sit and breathe, and be. You have a place at His table. When was the last time you sat at the table and were totally honest with Him? No matter where you are, He is welcoming you to come and sit with Him today.
