Christmas Advent Preparation for Worship Creatives

DAY 1 OF 4

Preparing for Advent - "Slow Down, Creative Soul"

Before you plan a single opener, creative theme, or idea, before you rehearse the band, before you spend half your life in Canva fixing that one pixel that just won't behave - pause.

Advent invites us into a holy slowdown. A sacred breath. A gentle leaning in.

As worship creatives, we're usually sprinting toward Christmas with coffee in one hand and a USB drive in the other. But preparation for Advent isn't about productivity. It's about heart posture. The question isn't "What do I need to make?" but "Who do I need to become in this season?"

Ask Jesus to quiet the noise. Invite Him into the planning process before you even open your laptop. Give Him the weight you're carrying - the pressure to impress, to create, to produce. Let your heart become the manger where His presence settles.

Reflection Time:

What are the inner places that need preparing? What expectations or anxieties do you need to lay down so your soul can breathe?

Let's Pray Together: Father, help me prepare my heart before I prepare anything else. Slow we down long enough to sense Your nearness. Help me to be guided only by Your Holy Spirit and keep me at peace with all men. In Jesus Name we pray these things, Amen.

Worship Team Discussion Questions during rehearsals for Christmas Services

1) What part of this season tends to make you feel rushed or overwhelmed?

2) What helps you personally slow down and make space for Jesus?

3) Is there a burden or expectation you've been carrying for Christmas ministry that you want to release?

4) How can our team help one another protect rest and margin in this season?
