The Bible is filled with an endless number of life-changing truths to grow us deeper in our faith. When we combine biblical truth with God's creation and everyday life-experience, the lessons we glean resonate deep within our being.

God not only wants to grow us spiritually; He wants us to have faith that grows in every season.

Let's get started!

NEW GROWTH:

The transformation of spring appears to take place overnight; however, new life works its way to the surface long before we see it emerge. Unseen growth takes place all winter long while nature prepares for another season.

The same is true for us. Throughout our faith journey, we go through seasons of growth. Some growth is visible; it can be seen and felt. Other growth is hidden beneath the surface; it may not be as readily seen or felt, but it’s equally important.

Each spring, my husband and I spruce up our yard by clearing away dead leaves and intrusive weeds that threaten our lawn and landscape. Once these are removed, new plants and grass have adequate space to grow and flourish.

Sometimes it's necessary to incorporate a similar practice into our faith journey.

Could your spiritual life use some sprucing up? Compare where you are today with where you were a year ago. Has worship grown more meaningful? Do you have more Scriptures tucked into your heart than you did this time last year? Are you sinning less? Do you trust God more?

Each of these indicators can be a visible gauge to measure spiritual growth. Since some changes appear slowly, we must take inventory of our lives periodically to truly perceive the transformations taking place.

Maybe it feels like you have stopped growing. Different seasons offer different opportunities. Try something new like journaling your prayers, memorizing scripture, or studying a book of the Bible with a friend. Making small changes like these just might provide the growth spurt you need.

When we clear away the lifeless foliage of seasons past, we can flourish among the new opportunities God brings our way. God ordains different seasons for our spiritual life, and with each new season, He provides rich new growth and an abundant harvest of spiritual fruit.
