Top 5 Truths for Worship Creatives

DAY 1 OF 5

Day 1: Stay Anchored in the Secret Place

Devotional Thought:

As worship creatives, we pour out so much of ourselves — songs, sounds, ideas, leadership, and emotion. But pouring out without first being filled up will always leave us empty. The strength of our public worship will always flow from the depth of our private worship.

It’s easy to get caught up in the rhythm of rehearsals, services, and planning, but God’s first call on your life isn’t to perform, that's never the call, but to worship Him — it’s to be with Him and for Him. Before you ever step on the platform, you’re called to dwell in His presence. That’s where creativity, inspiration, and anointing are born.

When you live anchored in the secret place — that quiet space where you meet with God alone — everything changes. You stop striving for approval because you’ve already encountered the One whose approval truly matters. Your art becomes worship, your excellence becomes devotion, and your platform becomes His altar. When you are willing to give it all away, that is the real test of being anchored in Jesus. Nothing matters but Jesus and making Him known.

True creativity flows from communion. The closer you are to the Creator, the more clearly His heart will shape what you create. So today, take time to slow down. Step away from the noise, the schedules, the pressure — and rest in His presence. Let Him fill you before you pour out again.

Prayer:

Lord, draw me back to the secret place. We make time for the things that are important to us. Remind me that my first calling is to know You — not to perform for You. Fill me again with Your presence and let my creativity flow from intimacy, not exhaustion. Keep me anchored in You, the source of all that I am and all that I create. Amen.
