DAY 4 OF 5

Day 4 — When Business and Faith Align

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." (Colossians 3:23–24, NIV)

For a long time, Elisa believed that faith and business were two parallel tracks that never intersect. She loved God, prayed, and served Him passionately, yet she never imagined that He could be intertwined in her professional life. She believed that God could guide her in many areas of life—except her business.

Through her friendship with Carrie, Elisa discovered a movement of women who boldly live out a powerful truth: the faith God has equipped us with is not meant to stay confined within the walls of the church—it is meant to transform how we live every part of our lives, including our business.

Elisa realized that when our relationship with Jesus becomes the center of everything, every area of our lives naturally begins to align with His perfect will.

Through her new business endeavor, Elisa started to understand that her company was not merely a business project—it was the ground where God was building something eternal. She learned that inviting God into the “board room” - seeking His guidance regarding investments, partnerships, and business management strategies - His peace confirmed the path ahead.

Over time, she recognized that success stopped being measured by numbers, rather, began to be measured by impact. Every milestone became a testimony of God’s faithfulness.

Ephesians 3:20 describes it perfectly: “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” (NIV) When you allow God to be an active part of your work, it changes how you evaluate everything:

  • You no longer chase results—you seek direction that leads to the fulfillment of your divine purpose.
  • Success is no longer a list of goals achieved—it becomes the natural outcome of obedience to God’s will.
  • The meaning of what you do is no longer found in your accomplishments, but in knowing that you are building something with God—something that carries eternal value.

When your decisions align with His will, you begin to experience a peace that no achievement can give: a peace not tied to income, recognition, or praise from people, but to the unshakable certainty that you are walking in the right direction—God’s direction.

Perhaps, like Elisa, you have wondered whether God truly cares about your career or your projects. The answer is yes. He wants to be your closest ally, your most trusted counselor, your ultimate business partner.

As Christian women in leadership, we recognize that our workplaces, roles, and relationships are not accidental; they are the mission fields God has entrusted to us - your workplace is your ministry.

Every team we lead, every project we build, and every decision we make is an opportunity to reflect His character, embody Kingdom values, and glorify His Name through our daily work.

Prayer: Lord, today I choose to make You an active part of every area of my life—including my work. Thank You for reminding me that my workplace is the mission field You have entrusted to me. May every meeting, decision, and project become an opportunity to serve You and reflect Your character. Teach me to lead with Your wisdom, to work with Your heart, and to build according to Your vision. Let my career reflect Your glory, and may every decision I make become an act of trust and worship to You. Amen.

About this Plan

EquipHer Vol. 32: "When Your Plans Are Not What You Planned…"

Through this five-day devotional, we share a story of a young Italian woman who learned the power of partnering with God in business. Her journey began with one simple word that challenged her to trust God’s plan, even when it looked completely different from her own. We hope her story will inspire you to do the same.
