Trustful Prayer

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

Abba, my Faithful Protector, I must confess that anxiety, worry, and fear will not infrequently invade my heart and soul, even waking me in the middle of some nights.

Thank you, this morning, for Paul, who, while in prison awaiting a horrible execution, reminds me and all my brothers and sisters to not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving to let our requests be made known to You.

And, when I do, You promise Your peace, that exceeds anything that I can understand or comprehend, will guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus. Father, help me practice this with greater diligence.
