Africa and the Bible From a to ZНамуна

F Is for Future Promises
Read, or have older children find and read, Psalm 68:31-32. Then read the following story with your children.
God made promises about the future of Africa. The prophet Isaiah says God will call the Egyptians “my people”. Egypt and Israel will one day be like brothers serving the same God. Later, Isaiah says God will send missionaries to other parts of Africa. Verses in the book of Psalms tell how people from Sudan or the Horn of Africa will know God, and kings from North Africa will bring gifts to God’s chosen king. The prophet Zephaniah speaks of people from all over Africa who will be God’s worshippers.
Many of these things are already happening. In the Bible, God promises that many good things will happen in Africa!
Questions to ask your children
1. Can you find Egypt and Israel on a map?
2. How many countries do you think are on the African continent? (55)
3. How many languages do you think are spoken across Africa? (around 3,000)
4. What is one good thing you can thank God for?
Prayer
Thank God for the good things he is doing around the world.
