HebrewsНамуна

Holy God and unholy people do not belong together. Yet because God wants many (or, according to another possible translation, “all”) people to share in His glory, He sent His Son to earth, who became human. Only as a human could Jesus, through His suffering on the cross, reopen the way to God. Now, those who believe in Him are sanctified through Him. Jesus Himself sanctifies them—no one can do this by their own effort. And now we are holy, just as Jesus and our heavenly Father are. That is why Jesus calls us His brothers.
We do not yet fully see Jesus’ power. The great God became human and seemingly died weakly on the cross. But this should not deceive us. A time will come when we will see Jesus in all His glory, and then every person will submit to His rule.
Reflection:
The great God died for us—what love! He offers this salvation to every person. Have you accepted His offer? Jesus has sanctified us. It is accomplished. If your conscience accuses you, remind it that Jesus has already done everything for you.
