More Than Conquerors: 10 Days in Romans 8Намуна

Set Free by the Spirit
Ever wonder why you still wrestle with sin if Jesus already set you free? Paul’s answer:
“The law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2 NIV).
The law was good—but powerless to save. It could point out what was wrong but couldn’t fix what was broken.
The problem wasn’t with God’s law but with us.
So God did what the law could never do. He sent His Son, fully human, to bear our sin and satisfy justice once and for all. Now, because of Him, the righteous requirement of the law is fulfilled in us—not because we got it right, but because Christ did.
And here’s the best part: Paul says the Spirit has set you free—past tense. Sin and death no longer own you. That means you don’t have to live weighed down by guilt or scrambling to earn God’s favor.
The cross settled it.
Reflection:
- Where do you still live as if sin has the final word over you?
Try This Today:
- Thank God for the freedom you already have in Christ.
- Then ask the Spirit to help you walk like a free person today—not in fear, not in guilt, but in joy.
