The Word Is LifeНамуна

The Word as Nourishment
Have you ever seen a newborn craving a pork chop? Ridiculous, right? No sane parent would offer that. Milk is the perfect nourishment for a newborn: simple, complete, and essential. Without it, the baby wouldn’t grow; he might even die.
In the same way, the newly born spiritual person needs the pure milk of the Word. But often we want to run ahead, skip the basics, and understand the deep things of God without first being nourished by the fundamental truths. The result? Misunderstanding, confusion, stagnation.
Spiritual growth begins with absorbing, hungrily and sincerely, the simple yet powerful truths of the Word. It’s this milk that prepares us, step by step, to later receive solid food and understand the deep things of the Kingdom.
There’s no maturity without consistent nourishment. And the pure, untainted milk of the Word is the foundation of our spiritual health. Let God nourish you, just like a loving father feeds his child.
Prayer: Lord, give me hunger for Your Word. Help me desire each day that pure milk that comes from You. Nourish my spirit, and help me grow strong in faith.
