Jesus’ Relationship with God

Mankind had a problem, but God had a solution. His solution was a sacrifice. His only Son, Jesus, lived the life that we should have lived but never could because of what Adam and Eve did in the garden. God became flesh in the person of Jesus Christ and lived a perfect, sinless life so that He could become the perfect Saviour, “For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Jesus willingly gave His life for us on the cross so that He could defeat sin and its consequences in our lives. Because He did, we each regained:

1. Our “intimacy” with God and became a “child of God”.
2. A new awareness of God. Our hearts became alive, and our minds can now see the truth of our relationship with God.
3. Our place in the family of God. Jesus is now Lord of our lives, and we have defeated lust, pride, and rebellion; we can now live in love, humility, and obedience to God.

Water baptism is a powerful encounter with Jesus, who willingly gave His life for us and now lives His life in us, giving us power over sin.
