GRIT: Intense Fellowship

DAY 13 OF 30

Pursuing Wisdom

James 1:5 - "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him." (ESV)

Wisdom is more than knowledge—knowing how to live rightly in God's eyes. True wisdom can be hard to find in a world full of opinions, quick fixes, and ever-changing values. But James gives us a clear invitation: if you lack wisdom, ask God for it.

This is not a one-time offer. God invites you to seek His wisdom daily, knowing His answers are grounded in truth and love. Unlike the world, God doesn't give wisdom grudgingly. He gives generously and without shaming you for needing help.

Pursuing wisdom starts with humility. You must first admit you don't have all the answers. That posture opens the door for God's insight to guide your decisions, conversations, leadership, and relationships.

Wisdom also means learning to listen to God first and to Godly counsel around you. It's about slowing down, seeking God's voice in Scripture, and filtering decisions through His truth rather than reacting emotionally or impulsively.

Imagine the impact if you approached every major decision—about work, family, money, conflict—with prayer and patience, trusting God to lead. Over time, this habit shapes not only your actions but also your character.

Let wisdom be more than a goal—a daily pursuit. When you receive it, walk into it. Trust that God's way is better, even when it's more complex or slower. His wisdom leads to peace, clarity, and righteousness.

Challenge:

Identify one decision you're currently facing. Before moving, take time today to seek God's wisdom through prayer and Scripture.

Prayer:

Father, I need Your wisdom. Help me to seek You first and trust Your guidance, even when I don't understand the whole picture. Thank You for being generous with Your truth. Amen.
