Day 4: Inheritance – God’s Promises for His Children
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:20, John 14:16–18, Revelation 21:3–4
Earthly fathers may make promises they cannot always keep, but God is faithful. Every promise in Christ is “Yes and Amen.”
Through Jesus, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit—our Helper, Counsellor, and Guide. He empowers us to live out our calling and identity. God promises to meet our needs, give us His peace, fill us with joy, and strengthen us in every circumstance.
But even greater is our eternal inheritance. We are heirs with Christ, destined to reign with Him. The struggles and sufferings of this world are not the end of the story. Death is not the final word—Jesus is. He has promised to return, to wipe away every tear, and to make all things new.
This inheritance is secure. It is our hope. And it gives us courage to live with confidence today.
Reflection:
Do you live each day as if God’s promises are true for you? Which promises are you holding on to right now?
Prayer:
Faithful God, thank you that Your promises never fail. Teach me to stand on Your Word and trust Your timing. Fill me with hope in my eternal inheritance, and help me walk in the confidence of what is already mine in Christ. Amen!
About this Plan

So many of us live far below who God has called us to be. We forget that we are not just saved—we are adopted into His family, sealed with His Spirit, and called heirs of His Kingdom. This 5-day plan, God’s Child, will help you discover what it truly means to be a son or daughter of God. Together, we’ll explore our identity in Christ, the privileges and access we have as His children, the barriers that keep us from living in freedom, and the promises that belong to us as His heirs.
